Something you should know about Southern Discomfort

I realized I should clarify expectations for the piece I wrote for the anthology.

Southern Discomfort isn’t anything too crazy. For once, blood doesn’t come as part of the trigger warnings – there are no murders or torture scenes. I wasn’t feeling mayhem for this piece. It’s easy to write that in, given the theme, but I didn’t want to play that fiddle this time around. Feminine rage is still present, of course, but in a different package. It really is Southern Gothic. This short story focuses more on the general unease any feminine-identifying person or black sheep deals with daily in the South, and destroying the ultimate source of the problem, which isn’t one person or even a group of people. Despite going against the norm, I hope y’all still enjoy Southern Discomfort for exactly what the title presents: the discomfort of existence as a woman and queer living in the South.
