I commend you for leaving Meta and would love to follow suit if/when I have enough of a Substack following to justify it! I was all too happy to leave Twitter but right now I’m super dependent on my Instagram for reach. I envy authors of the pre-social media era haha
I’ve spent months scouring the internet for authors who don’t do social media and like… there are so many??? Who are very successful too??? Either way, I’ve tried to focus my social media marketing directing people to sign up for my newsletter, so my newsletter following has always been way better than my social media. And that’s exactly why I feel comfortable making the leap. I hope all authors can have that freedom because holy shit does staying off socials seriously help the creative flow 😅
